I have to be honest – I’ve been wanting to do this for some time. It turns out that the dry run was much more accurate than the house I ended up starting on the joint server. Unfortunately, in the practice run, I made the mistake of building in a superflat world. And I started with the middle floor. Which meant that when I went to work on the basement level — oops, you can’t! It’s bedrock and then void, and you can’t build down, as one can in Sky Factory. So, no basement level – which means no garage door and no front door, either. 🙁
I have no idea how I can fix the build other than starting over, and I’m not sure I have the patience to do that again. In all, this was about 2.5 hours of work. But I was extremely pleased with how the floor plan turned out, especially the bedrooms with the closets. Yes, our house really has an olive kitchen and a deep purple living room. Trying to find blocks that accurately represented the colors proved a bit difficult, but I think I managed to get it mostly correct. The flooring is the biggest inaccuracy – we don’t have wood or tile flooring. And there isn’t a “tan” or “beige” wool block. :: shrug :: Oh well.
So, it was a fun experiment. The perfectionist in me really wants to go rebuild it correctly with the basement level, but I don’t think I can do it.
Yet.
Maybe.
We’ll see. 🙂
