Kitty Toast at Work

My husband, John, wanted to try out the toaster on Friday morning to see how well the Kitty design appears on the toast during the process.  We were both running late, so I wrapped the toast in a small pocket of tin foil, and put it in my lunch bag, not quite sure what I was going to do with it. The sandwich bread is very stale, having spent several weeks in the fridge.  While it smells great, I’m not quite sure it’s safe to eat.  We’ll call it questionable bread.  We planned to use it to feed the birds out back.  Making Kitty toast has been an additional use.

Once at work, and getting my laptop going, pulling out my soda and water for my desk, I remembered the toast.  Being Friday, it was a bit quiet, so I was able to get away with snapping some quick shots while sitting in my cube.  Again, cell phone camera is not perfect.  Trying to hold toast in one hand and strike a creative pose, while awkwardly holding my phone and depressing a not-so-convenient photo button all while making sure my co-workers weren’t watching or walking by was a bit much.  Therefore, these not perfect and somewhat lousy shots of my toast will have to suffice.

But at least the first official Kitty Toast Post* is up! : )

Extras no one asked for:  That is Hawaii on my laptop screen – an image of the beach in downtown Waikiki from a visit a few years ago.  The red card tacked up on the cube wall has words of encouragement for writers, because I try to remind myself all day at work that I need to write so I can do that for a living instead.  One of those snapshots is my desk, file cabinet, and the corner of my white board, which I draw on, which it not its intended use.  And there is an adding machine from the 1980′s, which I love to use but don’t have much use for, so I put a frog sticker on top of it.  Because frogs are also cool.  Like Kitty toast.
